Technology has advanced a lot in the past decade and learning to touch type - the ability to compose text without looking at keys - is essential to their growth in focusing to write using the technology of today.

It is for this reason that BCS provides Keyboarding Instruction beginning in the third grade.  Keyboard curriculum will systematically target age appropriate skills.  which build upon each other continuing through eighth grade.
