Mr. Hughes is beginning his second year as a teacher at BCS and first as Director of Spiritual Development. Prior to joining us, he spent over two decades as a successful entrepreneur, launching businesses across diverse industries and business models. This wealth of real-world knowledge enables him to offer practical applications in his teaching.

Together with his wife, Mrs. Hughes, who also teaches at BCS, they are proud parents of three daughters. Originally from California, they spent 13 years in Idaho before relocating to Florida in 2023. During their time in Idaho, Mr. Hughes served as an elder in their church and helped lead the planting of a new church.

His role as Director of Spiritual Development aligns perfectly with his passion for helping students understand how the Bible applies to their lives. Beyond the classroom, Mr. Hughes enjoys Bible study, reading, playing golf, and traveling. He holds a teaching certificate from Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS), our accrediting agency.

His life verse is Romans 12:2 –  ^“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
