STEAM Works

We believe that education must adapt with new advancements in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). Bethany Christian provides opportunities for students to be exposed to these new changes by ensuring the use of technology throughout the school year.

According to ACT.org, almost a quarter of students taking at least three years of math or science met the STEAM Benchmark, while only 2 to 6 percent of those who took no more than two years of math or science did so. The Bethany Christian School advantage is in providing STEAM based education in every grade, from preschool to graduation.

We seek to build positive self-concepts in students by:

  • – Increasing an understanding of their physical/mental competencies
  • – Encouraging the acceptance of mistakes as part of the learning process, and assuming responsibility for his or her actions
  • – Developing an understanding of independence, freedom and initiative
  • – Developing a willingness to have God live out His ways in and through us

Spirituality

Bethany Christian School aims to lead the student:

  • – To know that God is the Creator and sustainer of all things. To accept His Son, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as a guide for holy living
  • – To believe that the Bible is the Word of God, foundation for our faith, and that God will speak to us through it
  • – To turn to God in belief through prayer, listening when He speaks, and growing in their relationship with Him
  • – To grow in being doers of the Word, accepting Christian standards and ideals as a basis for choices, and becoming interested and active in a variety of Christian service opportunities

Science Labs: Our science program is designed with interactive demonstrations, where students will participate in science actives designed to solidify concepts taught in the classroom.

Keyboard Skills: Technology has advanced a lot in the past decade and learning to touch type – the ability to compose text without looking at keys – is essential to their growth in focusing to write using technology today.
