Tashika Martin was born in Petersburg, Virginia, and grew up in Cumberland, Virginia. She joined the United States Army and served honorably on active duty. After completing her military service, she moved to Florida and began working toward a career in early childhood education.
Tashika earned her Florida Child Care Professional Credential and later earned her Director Credential. While working in childcare, she also became a Florida Medicaid provider and obtained a National Provider Identifier to provide in-home care for children with special needs.
Tashika joined Bethany Christian School in 2025 with more than 20 years of experience working with children. She has four adult children and three grandchildren.
