Mrs. Cook is new to Bethany Christian School, serving as one of our kindergarten teachers and our after-school dance instructor. She has taught a wide variety of subjects since 2004, including K-12 Art, Speech and Debate, 6-12 English, Career Development, youth and children’s ministry, and various dance and fitness classes. While new to teaching kindergarten, she has worked with kindergartners in children’s ministry and taught dance movement classes.
She studied at York College of Pennsylvania, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education. Since then, she has pursued further studies in areas such as Autism studies, early childhood education, and Christian counseling. Additionally, she has trained to instruct dance, Pilates, and CrossFit.
Teaching kindergarten is an answer to Mrs. Cook’s prayers to work more closely with elementary students. She loves teaching, creating, and engaging with students to help them discover all the new and exciting elements of God’s creations. As a mother of four, she is devoted to her family and has been married to her husband since 2009. After spending much of her life moving as a military wife, they have lived in Melbourne, Florida, for over six years, marking this as their longest home. She holds a teaching certificate from the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS), our accrediting agency.
Her life verse is Proverbs 3:5-8: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”
